A MATTER OF CHARACTER
"I thoroughly enjoyed this series, especially this final book. Robin has a way of bringing her characters to life. Historical details have been carefully researched, and add dimension to the story. A Matter of Character is a fun, quick read, but it also asks some hard questions. I was challenged in asking myself, "Am I a person of character, and in what ways do my words honor God and others?" I highly recommend this book, and look forward to the books Robin will be writing next!" — blogger review 5/25/10
"I highly recommend this book to anyone. It's a beautiful historical with great suspense and sweet romance and an incredible message. Actually there are a lot of things in this book that will make you think and maybe even do a little inward assessment. I know I did. I love a book that is entertaining but also makes me think and keeps me thinking even after I've finished the book. This is that type of book. A part of me is sad to see the end of this series." — blogger review 5/25/10
"A fast paced, book with quirky characters who were ahead of their time politically, but who were ground breakers in that historical period. Most definitely a book to share with your friends and to add to your library." — blogger review 5/25/10
"I really enjoyed reading this book even though it was not my favorite genre. This is the third book in the series, but was great as a stand alone book. I would love to go back and read the first two. Looks like I found a new author to read!" — blogger review 5/25/10
"I really enjoyed this book. I liked all the characters, especially Daphne. I think that the basis of the book is a good one. Even if it is fiction, words either written or spoken are powerful things that can hurt people and their reputations. This book was kind of like having two in one because there were two distinct parts. The first part about the suspense of the writer of the dime novels and the second about what would happen between Daphne and Joshua." — blogger review 5/25/10
"Robin Lee Hatcher strikes again with this newest book! Her loyal fans know what to expect and they won’t be disappointed. Those who might be new to Robin’s books, won’t be disappointed either." — blogger review 5/24/10

FIT TO BE TIED
"Immediately captured from page 1, Idaho and Bethlehem Springs became my home for the duration of the book. In this story, Robin mixes new characters in with the old in a perfect way. The story's message of beauty being deeper than skin and that God loves us no matter our imperfections, is amazing and really gripped my heart. I found my heart going out to Lord Sherwood and wanted to hug him, pray for him and tell him that it's okay to have flaws! And Cleopatra...my my my! I saw myself in her in so many things and sometimes I just wanted to tell her to 'WAKE UP' and see what God had before her! Robin really knows how to create characters that flow together perfectly with both the story and each other. That's the work of a truly seasoned author! Between the humor, God, friendship and the love of family, this book is highly worthy of 5 star praises and high recommendation." — blogger review 5/25/10
"I always read the books before my husband does because I go through them quicker. So he had to hear me keep saying, 'No Cleo! No Cleo!' when I came to the part where she was [snipped so as not to give away story]. Usually I quickly flip to the back pages to find out what happens, but this time I didn't want to ruin the book so I made myself wait until I got to the end to find out. But I gave lots of advice to Cleo while reading it! Your book definitely made the people come alive and kept me captivated." — via email 10/18/09
"[Fit to be Tied] was WONDERFUL! I liked A Vote of Confidence, but this one blew it out of the water... I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. You had my heart going out for Sherwood from page 2. It was fantastic." — via email 10/17/09

A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE
"Absolutely a great start to a wonderful series … This story is full of humor, love, and most importantly God. I love how this book is historical enough to still have horse and buggy but modern enough to have automobiles and plumbing … Gwen, Morgan, Cleo and even Harrison are wonderfully created characters who add depth to the story and truly make it come alive ... It's a 5 star story by a two thumbs up author, and I can't wait to dive into Fit To Be Tied, book 2 in the Sisters of Bethlehem Springs!" — blogger review 5/25/10
"This is another winner from one of the best Christian writers!! Robin takes you into the life of Gwen, a woman who has come back to Bethlehem Springs, Idaho, to live. Gwen writes for the local paper and also teaches piano lessons in her home. She is a fairly independent woman who loves the Lord! After living in Bethlehem Springs for seven years she decides to run for mayor. The current mayor is a drinker and local saloon owner and is running for re-election. Her other opponent is a builder of a resort in her town who falls in love with her. The story keeps you so involved you won't want to put it down! You will fall in love with the town and it's people! Thank you Robin for another wonderful read!!" — via email 2/22/09 (advance reader)
"Robin Lee Hatcher is such a diverse writer. She encompasses so many different genres and her books are just a pleasure to read. One of my all time favorites books is Robin's book "Ribbon of Years" for the originality she uses in her writing style. A good example of women's fiction is her recent book "A Perfect Life", but "A Vote of Confidence" looked different than anything I had previously read by Robin so I was excited to see what it would bring to the table. Here again Robin shows her diversity in styles as she presents a book that takes us back in time and introduces us to a single woman in a time when women have the right to vote, but that is about it ... A fun read in the same vein as Deeanne Gist or Cathy Marie Hake... I really enjoyed this book - a new winner from Robin Lee Hatcher!" — via Amazon review 5/1/09

WAGERED HEART
"I just finished reading Wagered Heart and I just wanted to let you know what a fantastic read it was. Keep up the good work." — via email 8/31/08
"I typically prefer contemporary romances to western or historical romances, but I was completely captivated by this story from start to finish! It is one of the best books I have read this year! I will definitely read it again in the years to come! Besides being captivating for its romantic theme, the book has a very serious and important message throughout. Also, this story has a great range of characters! I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read romance novels!" — via Amazon review 11/4/08

THE PERFECT LIFE
"The Perfect Life had a riveting beginning. I was dying to know what had actually happened. Then it looked like the mystery was over and I wasn't sure I wanted to finish the story. However, I decided to give it a chance and am glad I did because the story didn't shake out the way it seemed like it would at first. It's very hard to sustain tension and genuine spiritual struggles in a novel about marriage relationships without it getting annoying for the reader due to the harping and bitterness that tends to develop within a storyline where trust is broken in marriage. However, the author does a fabulous job with this novel and not once did I want to slap the heroine, as is often the case. The tension in The Perfect Life was realistically done and believable. The spiritual arc was fabulous and extremely honest. In short, I loved this story and highly recommend it, especially for couples who have discovered a lack of trust in their relationship." — via email 3/19/08
"I literally finished The Perfect Life on my lunch break at school this morning.
Though Brad and Kat, along with their daughters faced incredible obstacles; I must confess I was glad that Brad was not unfaithful. Like many women, I've dealt with this on multiple levels with family, friends, colleagues, and personally. It was refreshing to read your latest work. I would have been content even if a divorce came into Brad and Kat's life; just knowing Brad had kept his vows. I hope that doesn't sound ludicrous.
As always your work inspired and held me from word one. It's a shoo-in for my book club." — via email 3/3/08

RETURN TO ME
"I finished Return to Me in one day. (I won't go into what I ignored on my To Do list that day!)
It was such a good book. You took the story of the prodigal and rewrote it so it was up-to-date and realistic. I think your insight into Elena, Roxy's sister, was brilliant--giving readers an honest view of what the older brother in the biblical story of the prodigal would have struggled with.
I also appreciate that Return to Me was not all pat answers and happily-ever-after. It was real life."— via email 7/24/07
"I just finished reading this book and I would say it is one of Robin Lee Hatcher's best. Once again she has an amazing way of explaining God's grace in such a simple way that it hits you right between the eyes." — via Amazon.com, 6/08/07

SWEET DREAMS DRIVE
"This final novella in the Hart's Crossing series is as heartwarming as the first book was. Hatcher evoked some long forgotten emotions. Emotions from when I was like Patti--young and newly married and stressed out with the new baby. Patti and Al dance a hormonal waltz, until a purchase Patti makes brings it all to the surface. Poignant and endearing, Sweet Dreams Drive is highly recommended." — Amazon review 6/1/07

"Your book was such a trip down memory lane for me as I was a little girl but old enough to remember all about life in WWII! I remember my mom knitting socks & scarves for the services in drab green & blue, collecting scrap iron, not much in grocery stores, etc. The reality of war never changes only the dynamics... BEYOND THE SHADOWS
"A refreshing look at real life issues in Christian Chick Lit. Recommended for anyone who struggles with the shame of alcoholism in the family or in their close circle of friends... or who knows someone in those circumstances. Hatcher clearly writes from personal experience and the assurance of God's forgiveness and the opportunity for change could be very encouraging. Also shows how a formal faith is not nearly enough..." — blogger review 7/13/10
"I read Beyond the Shadows a few days ago and I could NOT put it down. Half the time I was reading it with tears in my eyes. You treated a very sensitive subject so well. After I read [the article] in TCW ... I realized how by grace you were able to write that book. "— via email 6/30/04
"I read in Marlene Bagnull's book, WRITE HIS ANSWER, this quote: Write
so that Heaven will be different.
[Beyond the Shadows ] has met that call. Go Robin!" — via email 6/07/04
"One thing that struck me was that, while the book deals with one particular addiction, there were so many parallels to other kinds of addiction and to the human struggle with sin in general, that I think any reader will come away inspired." — via email 6/01/04
I just finished reading your new book entitled Beyond The Shadows. I was thinking how fortunate I was that I never had to experience the results of an alcoholic, nor living with one. I did not realize that it was so difficult. Good Reading Material!!!!!!" — via email 5/31/04

LEGACY LANE
"I've been traveling, doing stuff for two months so today I decided to read and relax while having lunch. Instead of getting into a big book, I thought I'd just start reading your little one [Legacy Lane] and read a little for a couple days while having lunch or supper. Wrong! This might look like a 'little book,' but it's got a powerful message and it's such a beautiful story. No, I couldn't lay it down until suppertime, so I just kept reading until I finished. "I really, really enjoyed the strong protagonist, Faith Butler, in this terrific story of a woman who must find a way to survive with her two children in the wild west. She is full of strength, gumption, perseverance and an unfailing belief in God. Drake Butler is the epitomy of the hardened bachelor who is yearning for a soft touch in his male dominated world and needs to find comfort and joy in his Saviour as well. This is a delightful love story interspersed with colourful characters like Rick (the town Doc who relies on alcohol to get by) and Gertie (the tough wrangler who desires a love of her own but doubts anyone would want her). I believe you will enjoy this story as much as I have! You won’t regret picking up this novel by Robin Lee Hatcher!" — blog review 11/3/10

FIRSTBORN
"Most fiction books do not impact my life. Usually, I only read fiction for entertainment. Your books (the two that I've acquired thus far) sent me to Scripture and to my knees in prayer in effort to make my life count for Jesus. No other fiction books have ever impacted my life in any fashion." — via email, 11/30/03
"I devoured this wonderful
book in one night and will highly recommend it. Though I've loved all
your novels that I've read, this will forever be special to me because
I am an adoptee myself... This book reminded me how special and important
adoption is... Reading FIRSTBORN not only gave me an enjoyable evening,
but a special time with God, to think and pray about and for my birth
family and be grateful for my beloved family that raised me." — via
email, 08/04/03
"I have been
a fan of yours since before 1992... I'm going to be honest with you.
When
you changed your form of writing I wasn't sure I would like it. But
one
day I sat down and said to myself, Well you have always liked her
books before. So I opened up the book FIRSTBORN and read and
read. I
just couldn't put it down.Your writing style
may have changed but you can still hold me till the end." — via

"I am reading your
book Firstborn at this time. It was a birthday gift from my daughter
who I gave up for adoption in 19. In 19 she found me. She
was age 28 at the time
Your book is sure close to what happened
to us. I have not finished it yet but am enjoying it & the memories." via email, 12/05/02
"Just finished reading Firstborn and had to write and let you know how much I appreciated
your courage in touching on a subject that is not yet well known or
accepted. As an adoptee myself, I was very touched by your compassionate
portrayal of a birth mother's feelings, as well as those of the adoptee
and the adoptive mother. There have been several 'self-help'books regarding
adoption and the feelings associated with searching, but little fiction,
at least that I can find. I have to ask how you know so well what members
of the triad feel! I think this book should be read by all who are touched
by adoption, as well as any who have friends or family who are part
of the triad. Thanks for a wonderful contribution to the literary world!!"
via email, 11/28/02
"I just read Firstborn - great book! As a birthmother, I had wanted to read it ever since I

Just captivated my attention with your new book, Firstborn, and
I had to read it all in one day. Thanks so much, for the message and
enjoyable reading . . . for blessing so many of us with your God-given
gift of story-telling." via email, 10/23/02
"I just finished reading
your book Firstborn. So beautifully written it brought tears

"I have
a son who is 20, almost 21, and I have been so worried about him since
America was attacked. Then last night after the President spoke to Congress,
I was filled with great sorrow that we were going to war again. I spoke
to my son and he told me that there was nothing that we could do and
that we should put it in the Lord's hands. I told him I knew he was
right and I had been praying that. As a mother this is the hardest thing
I have to do. Your book has given me hope, as I tearfully read it. I
thank God that he put it in my hands at this moment. Keep following
in the way that God is leading you. He has enlarged your territory,
and he will keep blessing you." - via email, 9/21/01

I have read. I cried, I laughed, and I relearned things that I had forgotten
long ago as well as realizing things I never knew. Thank you for sharing

in one page. It was a real pleasure reading this book. Thank you so
very much." - via email, 6/01/01
"I have
just read your wonderful book, Patterns of Love. I really got
a blessing from it. I can relate so well with Inga... You are truly

DEAR LADY
"This
was such an enjoyable book... This is the perfect type of book I gladly
pass on to our married daughters and the type they want to keep for
when their daughters grow up to have good, wholesome reading material
available." - via snail mail, 05/02/01
"[You
are] a wonderful writer, taking a person right into the story, to feel
as the characters do in each experience. I truly enjoyed 'living' in
Montana and experiencing the joy and sadness that prevailed throughout
the story. The good Lord was certainly directing throughout the book!
I can hardly wait for the next book, Patterns of Love, to be released." - via snail mail, 11/18/00

THE SHEPHERD'S
VOICE
"I do
not normally contact authors of books I read. But, I have read four
of yours. Three about ladies coming to this country that made friends
on the boat, then [The Shepherd's Voice]. You have no idea how
refreshing it is to read a book like yours. As I am reading your books
I can just picture the happenings in my mind. May God richly bless you
for the clean books you write. Shame we don't have other authors, movies,
TV. that would produce clean material like you do. In fact I sat reading
your books and I find myself saying Praise the Lord, or something like
that." - via email, 1/24/02
"When
my cousin gave me [The Shepherd's Voice] on Monday, I was going
through an especially difficult time of wondering when there was going
to be a sunny season spiritually. Well, God has spoken to me in many
ways, but never through the words in a book. I had never read your books
before. I had read Terri Blackstock, Francine Rivers and Jan Karon but
had never heard of you. I wish I had sooner because this book touched
me like no other.... It seems like God was saying those very words to
my heart. I know without doubt that He was indeed speaking to me. I
know that this trying time will soon be over.... I just had to write
to you, Mrs. Hatcher, and tell you how blessed I was. Thank you for
being obedient to the call of God on your life. If you hadn't been and
hadn't written the book, I would not have been encouraged on Monday,
March 19, 2001. Thank you." - via email, 03/20/01
"Thank
you for your fine novel, The Shepherd's Voice. Recently in our
church, we have started a Christian Novel Reading Group, wherein we
choose a novel, circulate it among our members, and gather afterward
for a Book Party and discussion. As the facilitator for this Group,
I prepare a list of discussion questions to include with the novels
when they are distributed. I need to tell you that, not having read
any of your numerous novels prior to now, I was captivated by the way
that you were able to weave Biblical principles and seed thoughts into
this narrative format. Your gift of teaching is as obvious as your gift
of story-telling. Thank you for your commitment to both." - a pastor

"Your
book was just wonderful! Can't wait to read the others. But, boy! Did
this book make me so utterly ashamed of myself. I realized, to my dismay,
that I don't anywhere near lean on the Lord as I should. Thanks from
the bottom of my heart for the "wake up" call!" - via
snail mail, 12/28/00
"After
just finishing The Shepherd's Voice I felt compelled to write
you; you have another winner ... I have been a Christian for 25 years.
Your book was the first Christian fiction book I'd ever read. You have
made me see that I need to make some changes in my life. My religion
has not been heart felt. Thank you for letting God use you. I really
believe my prayers were answered and I would have never believed before
that God could send you a message in a book; and reading is my favorite
hobby! " - via email, 8/21/00
"Wow.
I waited with baited breath for your newest book and it was everything
I had hoped it would be. Thank you so much for your words, thoughts
and Biblical basis. Your characters are SO real that I find myself hearing
them breathe." - via email, 8/19/00
"What
a beautiful story of God's redemptive love, His forgiveness of sin,
and His Sovereign Grace. I have read all your books so far....at least
those that come through our Christian Bookstore. My heart broke for The Forgiving Hour and Whispers of Yesterday. I am always
amazed that all of my favorite authors continue to come up with new
and exciting themes. I am looking forward to your next one. Hope it
will be soon." - via email, 8/6/00
"I've
always loved Robin's work but this has got to be her best piece ever...
[She] captures the essence of this era, as well as the harsh atmosphere
our hero must endure to find happiness and a love he so desperately
needs and desires. I've always thought Robin's storylines were so strong,
her characters utterly vivid - but none more so than with this book. The Shepherd's Voice is a book that is worth reading again and
again." - posted on Amazon.com, 7/29/00

WHISPERS
FROM YESTERDAY
"I
just wanted you to know that God is using you and your books. Keep
listening
to Him as you write. May He bless you forevermore." - via email,
2/26/02
"The
thing I most appreciate in your writing is your friendly use of scripture.
It has a realistic flow and just doesn't seem to be inserted to make
the book 'Christian.' I also like the way your characters live hearing
the voice of their Beloved. That is my desire and the way I feel God
wants to be real to us." - via snail mail, 06/02/01
"I have
been enjoying your books for many years, but this one is extra special.
God's message comes through your words loud and clear. It's not for
me to say what God's purpose is for you, but your inspirational stories
must be part of His plan." - via snail mail, 3/18/00
"I just
finished Whispers From Yesterday, and between my tears I write
this letter. You must be an extraordinary person by the way your feelings
are written into your books. I feel like a better person just for reading
them." - via snail mail, 3/3/00

THE FORGIVING
HOUR
"I
just finished reading your wonderful book, The Forgiving Hour.
It helped me realize I need to forgive myself for the pain and heartache
I've caused for my love ones, percisely my children. I was unfaithful
during my first marriage. I am truly sorry, but at times I feel
although God has forgiven me, I haven't forgiven myself... Thank
you again for such a wonderful book, and opening my eyes to forgiveness." — via
email, 5/01/03
"Your
book, the Forgiving Hour, touched my heart. My marriage was
a lot like Claire's, hard for a Christian to take. It's always so
astonishing
when someone else seems to understand what I thought was only my
world." - via email, 2/24/02
"Just
wanted you to know that we have a Christian women's bookclub (just like
Oprah's only better books!) and your book, The Forgiving Hour was our first one!! We have 10 ladies in our group and we totally loved
your book... Just wanted to tell you to keep up the great work, for
pouring out your heart into this book and let you know we loved it.
We do liken your work to Francine Rivers, and up to now she has been
our hero...way to go!!" - via email, 02/09/01
"What
a powerfully anointed book. Thank you so much! You are truly a vessel
being used by our Father to minister to the hurting!" - via email,
8/5/00
"I just
wanted to let you know that I read your novel, The Forgiving Hour,
and loved it! Forgiveness is sometimes the hardest thing to ask for
and even harder to give. Your novel revealed to me an understanding
of the need to forgive and what a marvelous gift it can be, for the
one forgiving and the one to receive it. I wrote an e-mail to Oprah
suggesting she include it as a book of the month for her book club." - via email, 4/7/00
"I just
finished reading The Forgiving Hour. What an amazing book. I
have read a lot of your books and have to say that I enjoyed this one
the most so far. It gave me goosebumps, it spoke to me in many ways
and made me cry." - via email, 4/4/00
"I work
in a Christian bookstore and you better believe that I will be recommending
this book to everyone! You have deeply touched my heart." - via
email, 3/25/00
